Dress with Sense: The Practical Guide to a Conscious Closet
What is it?
Fashion is a love/hate thing for many of us. Of course we like to wear nice things and express ourselves through our clothing, but there are also the environmental and economic issues that might make us less unwilling to engage with it. If you've ever looked at your overflowing wardrobe and felt you could do better - for style cred or for the environment, then this book is for you. It's packed with practical tips and inspirational advice from bloggers, activists, producers and models. It brings us how to buy better, and make more responsible choices when we go shopping. It gives tips on how to wear your clothes more creatively, and rescue hidden treasures from the back of your wardrobe. We learn about how to care for different fabrics in a more environmentally friendly way. It also teaches us of better ways to dispose of our clothes when we're finished with them. This book is compiled by Redress, an NGO working to reduce waste in the fashion industry. There are beautiful illustrations by Charlotte Trounce throughout the book too.
