#WasteToWaves Hand Plane - Body Surfing

A beautiful object, hand made in Donegal, this #wastetowaves yellow and white handboard is just the thing for the surfer in your life.

Handboards are mini surfboards that fits on your hand and let you plane on the water with more control then when bodysurfing. Using a handboard will also get you higher out the water meaning you go faster and further along the wave. It also allows you to steer and guide yourself on the wave. 

Each #WastetoWaves handplane is made using 10 waste HDPE milk bottles, collected from the foam's cafe in Bundoran. This collaboration was born during the first Lockdown, as designers Eoin McNally and Ian Walton sought to find a way to create a circular design project in collaboration with Foam Cafe. A shared love of coffee and surfing resulted in these stunning boards that are a treat to use.

What is it made from?

Each board is made from 10 milk bottles, cork and a strong Velcro strap.

How does it come?

Each board is approx. 20 x 30 cm
