The Gathered Table - A Taste of Home
Home. It can mean many things; a place of fond memories, family and friends. It can be shelter and security, refuge and comfort. And for those who have lived without a home - it means everything.
Compiled by Gather & Gather, whose ethos is about using food to bring people together and who provide catering across ireland and in aid of the Peter McVerry Trust, this beautifully put together book brings over 50 of the most cherished recipes from bakers, butchers, farmer, producers, shopkeepers and chefs from all across the country that for them mean 'home'.
Through these cherished recipes we get a glimpse of the variety of culinary delights available in this country; with recipes such as beef and Guinness pie, Cantonese lemon chicken, six nations stew, mac' n' cheese and sticky coffee pudding. Each recipe is accompanied by exquisite photographs by Katie Quinn, and all proceeds from this book will go to the Peter McVerry Trust, helping them to change more lives and give more people a home of their own and a table at the heart of it to gather around.
