LEMUR: bold colors, bright ideas

Bags and wallets I’ve had my eye on for quite a while. They’re made in Portugal as a collaboration between a Danish Designer and a Portuguese Architect and they’ve very cleverly designed. A huge amount of European footwear is made in Portugal. The recycled leather they use is made from compositing leather scraps from this industry mixed with natural rubber to make a material that is very like vegetable tanned leather but more sustainable, durable and easier to clean. It also comes in a range of really vibrant matt colours. 

Each of the bags and wallets in the fold collection is made from a single sheet of recycled leather. You even get to assemble the wallets yourself as they arrive flat packed. Making them this way is really efficient on materials and transport. It also has an added bonus of creating a secret extra pocket to both the bags and the wallets. In the wallet this becomes a coin pocket and in the bags a separate pocket for your phone that means you don’t have to open the main bag every time you want to get it out.
