Celebrating International Women's Day & Supporting the Strike4Repeal

This Wednesday (8th March) is International Women's Day. Also taking place this year is the Strike4Repeal and a march organised by the Coalition to Repeal the 8th Amendment.

To mark the day we're proud to be selling a limited edition Repeal print by Hens Teeth Prints (pictured left) in store on the day. The image is by Maria Lax, a Finnish photographer and filmmaker and it's paired with two lines from Irish writer, Sarah Marie Griffin's incredibly moving piece 'We Face This Land'. All the proceeds from the sales of the print will be donated to the REPEAL project campaign.

We'll be open from 10-6:30pm and we'll also be offering 12% off any purchase (to those who wish to avail of it) to represent the 12 women who have to travel abroad each day.

Strike4Repeal is a non-traditional strike that includes all kinds of labour and encourages people to be imaginative with how they participate – whether that be wearing all black/ a black armband in support, or booking the day off work.

In Dublin, the strike is doing a roving picket, starting at the Department of Justice and ending at O'Connell Bridge at 12:30pm. (Times below)

There are events taking place all over the country and internationally including a march organised by the Coalition to Repeal The Eighth Amendment in the evening. Check out this Facebook page to find out what's happening in your area.

Get out there and get involved!
