Job opportunity - storyteller?

We’re looking for a storyteller to join our team.

A what?
That sounds like a nonsense made up title… maybe it is but it kind of brings together all the different aspects of the role.

While we sell products in designist, we also sell the story that goes along with them and your job would be to tell that story through visual, verbal and written means.

What does that mean?
You’d be in charge of every aspect of the storytelling for the shop. Visual merchandising -  in the store and on the website. Copywriting - Writing informed and interesting product descriptions & blog posts. press releases, social media, photography.  Product training - making sure staff know about new products. Help develop the supporting story for products along with staff. Work with staff on storytelling as part of the customer experience in the shop.

What we're looking for...
Someone with creative flair, a strong aesthetic sensibility and an interest in consumer psychology, design, ideas, trends, and most of all telling a good story.

Most of all you'll need an interest in people. While this is not primarily a customer facing role working with and thinking about people is at the heart of this role.

We're very happy to hear from recent graduates in graphic design, fine art, cultural studies, people changing careers or coming back into the workforce.

What we're offering...
The chance to bring your whole self to work, but not bring your work home with you. Lots of on the job training and a chance to put your creative muscles to work. Very little chance that you'll be replaced by AI.

As we are a small team, each member makes a big impact on the business, and we rely on our staff to bring personality, imagination and enthusiasm to their roles. We aim to encourage you to try out new ideas, learn new skills, and persue your interests.

This is a full time job on either a 4 or 5 day a week over 7 days. Salary ranges between 30- 32.5k pro rata, depending on experience.

While this is retail and there will be some weekend work, we aim to give every staff member one weekend off a month. While not a sales position you will be covering lunch breaks and days off in the store, so will need to be fully trained and capable on the shop floor. Our rosters are worked out at least a month in advance so you plan your life and every staff member gets an extra paid day off on their birthdays.

Sure, we can work on the job title later. If you think you'd be interested, drop us an email to hireme@designist.ie with your CV and a bit about yourself and what you're enthusiastic about. We’d love to hear all about you. Closing date for applications is the 20th April 2026.
