Today we would like to introduce Carson & Crushell.
Douglas Carson and Rosaleen Crushell began their collaboration in 2003 following their graduation from University College Dublin, School of Architecture.
Based in London for six years, they worked for a number of award winning design practices. Since returning to Dublin their work has received some well deserved aclaim, including selection for Wallpaper’s 2010 design directory as one of the worlds best new talents, and as Apartments Therapy’s ten residential architects to watch in 2011.
Following on from a number of commissions from clients for one off pieces, they have added furniture design to their already impressive array of skills, debuting with the Snowdrop light.
d: What’s the nicest thing that happened to you today?
C&C: When I woke I saw the dawn rise over the Dublin mountains from my bedroom.
d: How do you like your eggs?
C&C: These days, sunny side up.
d: Who is your design Hero?
C&C: Alvar and Aino Aalto
d: What’s humanity’s greatest achievement / design / product?
C&C: The printing press
d: What can’t you leave the house without?
C&C: A sketchbook and a small measuring tape.
