Slice of Life
The Cake Café is one of Dublin's wee hidden gems. Wander through the Daintree Paper Shop and suddenly a beautiful little cafe opens up, offering some of the best cakes in the city, a lovely patio for alfresco coffee catch ups, yummy homemade meals, and a gorgeous range of homeware products to help your kitchen pop with style. Designed with care and wit by Niall&Nigel at Pony Design Studio, the signature graphic patterns of Cake Café aprons, tablecloths, napkins and tea towels are unique and distinguishable, featuring landmarks from various places around the country, from picnic sites to major cities, etched in bright and joyful designs.
Then there's the king of all bake-books. From classic cakes to tray bakes or buns, to biscuits and jam tarts, The Cake Cafe Bake Book features gorgeous illustrations and easy to follow recipes, with practical information, diagrams, equipment and ingredient advice. It even outlines how to make your own vanilla extract with a bottle of vodka and vanilla pods. Their products are all made in Ireland from 100% Irish linen and they recently opened a sister branch, Slice, in Stoneybatter. So whether north or south there's no excuse not to enjoy a wedge of style with your cuppa.
