Cool things to do on cool-ture night...
Culture night is one of my favourite nights of the year, there's always such a good atmosphere around town and loads of deadly things to do. But there's so much cool stuff on it's always a struggle to pick which things to go and see!
Soooo, here are a few art/design related things that I think are cool things to do on cool-ture night.
Above the fold - Tara Buildings
Creative collective Above the Fold have teamed up with the Tara Building to bring us a night of talks by artists, writers and designers. The night seeks to encapsulate and celebrate culture in Dublin. Alongside the talks, get the chance to pull your own screen print with resident artists, enjoy a drink and listen to some live music!
6-11pm, The Tara Building, Tara Street
Workshop - Gallery Zozimous
A family friendly workshop run by artists Mary Conroy & Kate O’Kelly. Transform 3D geometric shapes into cool personalised sheets of decorative paper! (Also mentions a play with clay element which sounds both messy and fun!)
6-10pm, 55/56 Francis Street
Damn Fine Print
Damn Fine Print are a really cool print studio in Stoneybatter. They're opening for the evening so you can have a nose around, take a look at all the art, pull your own print and watch some masterclass screenprint demos.
6-10pm, Unit 1, 32 North Brunswick Street
Amnesty
Amnesty international are running a really cool event where you can take a tour of the Amnesty building, learn about their new campaign Brave, which celebrates Human Rights Defenders, and... Make YOUR OWN SUPERHERO MASK (!!) V cool. (There's a pretty spectacular view of the city from their 7th floor which too which is well worth a visit in itself)
5-10:30pm, 48 Fleet Street
Tog
Hackers paradise Tog collective are offering an open house for the night. Talk to their tech and hacking experts, take a lockpicking workshop and learn about craft beer, all in one place! Pretty solid suss.
6-11pm, 22 Blackpitts, Dublin 8
