Event 11th March: Nessa Finnegan

This March to mark International Women's Day, we are utterly delighted to have the super talented artist Nessa Finnegan in for a one off special artist event here at Designist.

Nessa is the designer behind the much loved Fear Mna totes, Cailin Maith patches and the ever popular Sheela na Gig tea towels. Nessa will spend the evening chatting about her work, drawing Sheela na Gigs on our windows celebrating their infinite glory for all to see AND (if that wasn't enough) doing a little zine making taster. Throw in sparkly alcoholic beverages and really, what more could ya want?!

So pop in from 5.30pm on the 11th March 2020.

A little about Nessa:

Berlin based / Irish artist and designer Nessa Finnegan is making all your feminist, gaeilge swag dreams come true. From Sheela na Gig Tea towels to Cailín Maith Patches she has you covered! Nessa's artwork uses humour and tactile materials, exploring a wide spectrum of established gendered roles and rules as well as authority and power. Nessa is known for making big squishy pink and glittery soft sculptures that you can play with. She also facilitates Zine making and collage workshops and works as a graphic designer - an artist of many talents.

“It is not enough that we build products that function, that are understandable and usable, we also need to build products that bring joy and excitement, pleasure and fun, and, yes, beauty to people’s lives.”
