We have quickly fallen in love with the gorgeous range of sustainably produced wooden toys from Thailand based company Plan Toys.
A carbon neutral company, Plan Toys manufactures their toys from sustainable materials like rubber wood, and PlanWood which is a composite material made using the two tonnes of sawdust the factory produces on a daily basis. Also the glues and dyes used in the toys are formaldehyde free and non-toxic so are super safe for little ones to wrap their gums around.
It's hard to choose which ones we like the best, but The Pull-Along Snail with it's gorgeous colour palette and up and down snail motion is a firm favourite. The mechanics of the toy are all visible so are great for sparking the interest of any budding engineers.
Also in the the range are some brilliant bath toys such as this floating submarine with removable scuba diver. Great for some bathtime adventuring.
Plan Toys also has a great community ethos and counts a children's museum, a reforestation program, a children & community club, and a cultural foundation amongst it's portfolio.
They also run a brilliant project call the 'Mom-made project' where engineers, designers and academic child specialists come together with the mums of kids with special needs to design toys for kids with autism, cerebral palsy and visual impairment.
All together it makes for a very warm fuzzy story behind the toys.
We have a great range of Plan Toys in-stock right now, so check them out online or better still come into the shop and see first hand why we think they are so great.
