garden and growing
now that we're well and truly into spring it definitely feels like a time for planting, and we’ve got lots of new bits in for anyone who feels like making contact with the soil. I know not everyone has green thumbs or a flourishing garden to muck about in but that is absolutley no problem. whether you’re just about keeping your houseplants alive or your garden is already bursting into bloom, we’ve got something for every level. have a look at our new collection of grow products and see what tickles your fancy.
first up we've got these innovative grow bottles from Portugal cleverly made by reusing wine bottles. we go through a whopping 29 million bottles of wine a day and while 76% of those get recycled, that's still a lot to process, especially when you consider the amount of water needed to recycle glass. by chopping the bottles in half and inverting them, they have been transformed into planters with a built-in self-watering system. the kits come with everything you need to get growing: organic seeds, soil and full instructions to grow a variety of very handy herbs. perfect if you're looking for something low maintenance but also very useful to have on hand in the kitchen.
next up we have these deadly grow bags. these bags double as pots and include everything needed to grow chilli peppers, strawberries, chives or tomatoes. they’re perfect for a kitchen windowsill, a sunny balcony or can be transplanted into a garden later on. beautifully presented in these eco-friendly bags. tied with a ribbon, they make the perfect gift for anyone who enjoys gardening or growing and cooking their own food (they could also make a great treat for yourself). there’s something especially nice about giving a gift that keeps on giving, not just a one-off, but something that grows and eventually becomes part of a meal. far more satisfying than a bouquet of flowers with a short lifespan.
Bolty is another favourite, a great little device that turns ordinary plant pots into hanging planters. take any old pot with a drainage hole, screw the steel Bolty system into place and you're pot is transformed. we've currently got two plants hanging in the shop window using Bolty, and they're coming along marvellously. hanging plants can completely change a space, adding height and turning an everyday plant into a real statement piece.
these are just a few of the garden and grow bits we have in at the moment. you’ll also find birdhouses, seed collector kits, mushroom grow kits, and microgreens sets in the mix. Check out the whole collection online or in-store, whether you’re a seasoned gardener or you’re just dipping your toe in the soil, we’ve got something for everyone this spring.
