New Irish Design

New Irish Design

Our store on George's Street will be closed this Friday for St. Patrick's Day, re-open at 10am Saturday 18th. As always we're delighted to be showcasing some fine Irish design in store. From homeware to stationery to cosmetics, we've a wide array of products made possible by the hard work of local designers. Here are some of the brand new people we're working with.

Dúinn Designs

Dúinn Designs
New to designist this month, Dúinn Designs is the creation of textile designer Bernadette McCullagh. Bernadette has created a beautiful range of contemporary printed textiles with patterns which are inspired by myths and legends such as the Brown Bull Of Cooley, and historical places of interest like the Giants Causeway, Newgrange and Kilmainham Gaol. Check out the gorgeous silk neckerchiefs and tea towels.

Concrete Forrest
Concrete Forrest
We are delighted to stock Concrete Forest's Danish design/Irish made tealight holders. Concrete Forest was launched in November 2016 by designer and maker Kevin Corcoran. The man himself was born in Denmark to a Danish father and Irish mother, and his work comes together in perfect harmony from elements of both cultures. His pieces have clean refined designs that are synonymous with Nordic aesthetics, and the technique of using textured raw materials which is prevalent in Ireland.

Fintan Wall
Fintan Wall Dead Famous Prints
A graphic designer based in Dublin, Fintan usually works in print (with a bit of web thrown in). He recently started creating printed products such as mugs and framed prints. His mugs have a light-hearted, local sense of humour and his Dead Famous series of prints are cheery, colorful representations of some of the amazing artists we lost in 2016 such as Prince, Bowie, George Michael and Carrie Fisher.

La Bougie
Crop Candles & Diffusers
Crop is a new range of soy candles and diffusers made in Co. Cork. The range is inspired by and celebrates Ireland's produce. Choose from 6 delicious, soothing scents developed by expert perfumer Lucy Hagerty of La Bougie. All inspired by the land and produce from our fair isle, scents include Earth, Elderflower, Gorse, Grass, Rain and Rhubarb.
