Sprout: The Worlds first sustainable pencil

Sprout pencils have to be one of the coolest new products we have in the store! 

They're such a simple idea and they're so clever. (and cute!)

With a sprout pencil, there's a tiny capsule of seeds where you'd usually find a rubber on most (normal-stupid-boring) pencils. 

The idea is that when your pencil is too short to use, you turn it upside down and pop it in a pot of soil. 

The seed capsules are activated by water so after a couple of days your seeds will start to sprout into whatever herb or flower you chose.

Sprout pencils are the first sustainable and reusable pencil that were designed by MIT students as part of a project encouraging the design and production of green products on a global scale. The capsules are made of natural materials and the pencils are made from FSC-certified wood - meaning a tree is planted for every one harvested! Very cool.
