Our attitude to science, technology, engineering, art and maths (S.T.E.A.M.) has completely transformed over the past decade. As the last recession started to bite, the popularity of Steam courses shot up, along with the CAO points requirements. But what is it all about and can you build a career in it?
Science is a way to try to understand our universe and we use the language of Mathematics to describe it. Engineering and Technology take that knowledge and its language to improve our lives while the Arts provide a way to express and communicate it in our society. It's more important than ever to nurture the next generation of innovators and inspire young people to enter the exciting world of discovery and learning.

Art is the newest addition to STEM and we believe it has been the missing ingredient. The tagline of Science Gallery is 'Where Art and Science collide'. We believe they are the same thing, Science = Art. Both science and art are human attempts to understand and describe the world around us. The subjects and methods have different traditions, and the intended audiences are different, but the motivations and goals are fundamentally the same.

Mathematics

There is a joke that 5 out of 4 people struggle with mathematics and it's not far wrong - many of us are confused by all the symbols, notations, theorems, and axioms. In fact, the essence of mathematics is not to make simple things complicated, but to make complicated things simple.
